Acropolis Skip the Line Tickets and Acropolis Museum / Updated [2023]
If you want to visit the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, or the Ancient Agora with your family you have to pre-purchase your tickets online.
In addition, following the unprecedented numbers of visitors in 2023, the Greek Ministry of Culture has decided to initiate time slots and encourage e-ticketing, in order to avoid over-crowding and facilitate the procedure for guests and staff alike.
Your e-tickets will ensure you will skip the lines at the ticket booths. Buying online will also secure your tickets for the day you’re planning to visit the site / leaving it for the last minute can be tricky, as tickets may be sold out at the ticket booths. However, you will still have to queue for your tickets to be checked prior to entering the site. That line cannot be skipped by anyone, and can sometimes be long, especially during summer months when visitors’ numbers peak. Make sure you wear light-colored hats and have lots of water with you.
Full-priced tickets are available for adults over the age of 25 and reduced admission tickets for kids, teens, and young adults. There are different ticket prices depending on the nationality of each visit (i.e. if EU or not EU citizens).
After you purchase your tickets, you will receive a PDF file via email for each ticket purchased (check the junk/ spam folder in your email inbox). Make sure that your tickets include the following information:
- Correct time slot
- Correct date
- A QR/ Barcode
Please bring a copy of your passports (photos on your cellphone are OK) in order to take advantage of the reduced-priced tickets, otherwise, you may be asked to purchase new full-priced tickets from the ticket booths.
Tickets are either single-use or combined (Acropolis with other archaeological sites).
The tickets to the Acropolis follow one-hour increments, while the tickets to the Agora and the Acropolis Museum use two-hour increments.
If you follow a guided tour, please choose the increment that includes the starting time of your tour. In addition, when selecting your time slot, take into consideration the following recommendations from the official site:
Entrance is available 15′ before the starting time to 15′ after the ending time of the time slot of your choice. For example, if you choose 10.00-11.00, you may enter the site from 09:45 to 11:15.
Here you can find the online skip-the-line tickets from the official Hellenic Heritage website:
Once issued, you cannot cancel or return the ticket, or request a refund for any reason. Users – visitors may change the time zone they have chosen for admission to the site no later than fourteen (14) days before the scheduled date of their visit.
