Frozen Greek Yogurt Recipe
Greek yogurt is one of the most famous “Greeks” around the world, it’s also a staple in the Greek diet and used both in savory and sweet cooking creations. Here is how to make a healthy family favorite that all kids will love shared by Health Coach Aspasia Provou:
Frozen -Greek- Yogurt
What we need:
2 cups Greek yogurt
2-4 tbs honey
3 cups frozen fruits
Optionally…1 ts vanilla extract
In case we’re making a banana-chocolate version we’ll need 4 ts cocoa powder & possibly a little extra honey
We wash, peel (if needed) and slice ripe fruits, like bananas, strawberries, mangos, apricots, and cherries. We lay the slices on parchment paper, on a tray, and we put it in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours. Store-bought frozen fruits will work just fine, too! We blend the yogurt and the honey very well before we add the frozen fruits into a blender or food processor and blend till smooth. We can either eat right away or pour into popsicle molds and freeze for another 2-3 hours. Alternatively, we can pour the mixture into a tray with parchment paper and break it into pieces when it solidifies. Lick away!
