As in most places, the airport is located several kilometres from the city centre. So when you arrive at Athens airport, tired and with plenty of luggage to carry, the last thing you’ll need is to be looking for ways to get to the centre. Here are a few good ways to have in mind:
- The Metro
Line 3 ‘Agia Marina- Athens International Airport’ is specially designed to connect the airport with main areas of the city. The price of this particular journey is 8€.
2. The Suburban Rail
This railway directly connects you to the Athens Central Railway Station (Larissa Station) and the Port of Piraeus. You can continue your journey from there via the metro, bus etc.
Buses taking 4 different routes leave from the arrivals level of the airport – between exits 4 and 5. Bus X93 takes you to Kifissos, X95 to Syntagma, X96 to Piraeus, and X97 to Elliniko.
4. Other vehicles
If you don’t mind spending a little more there are always plenty of taxis parked outside the airport to take you anywhere you need. You can also rent a car at the arrivals level of the airport, or hire a driver from one of the private companies that provide high-quality cars.
