Nymphes Cafe
If you are staying near Chania town you must pay a visit to Nymphes Cafe which is next to Venizelos Graves on the road to the airport as you leave Chania.
It is a special find that is difficult to come across without recommendation. That is why it is mostly frequented by the locals. It is very popular with families on weekend afternoons, especially on Sundays.
The view in Nymphes Cafe is absolutely stunning as it overlooks Chania and you can see along the coast as far as the Rodopos Peninsula about 40 kilometres away! The sunsets are amazing here because the sun drops behind the peninsula leaving a red glow on the Aegean Sea in front of you.
Light main courses such as club sandwich, pizza and spaghetti are served as well as excellent salads. However, the main attraction of Nymphes is the dessert menu. Note that the portions are HUGE yet still very reasonably priced. The chocolate cake with ice cream seems to be one of the favourites, and please don’t make the mistake of ordering one each as these are definitely made for sharing – and you need a sweet tooth for this one!
