Location: Lassithi Plateau

  • Explore the Greek Mythology Thematic Park, featuring captivating exhibits of famous myths, with an activity to spot mythological figures like Daedalus and Icarus.
  • Engage in a creative gourd painting workshop, inspired by mythical creatures and symbols.

Day 3: Honey, Hearth, and History

Afternoon

  • Visit Melidoni Cave, a sanctuary dedicated to Hermes and Talos. Participate in a storytelling session outside the cave, sharing the myths of Talos and Zeus’s gifts to Europa.
  • Learn about stalactites and stalagmites while enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty of the cave.
  • Visit the Honey Museum to learn about Aristaeus, the god of beekeeping, and Melissa, the nymph who fed Zeus honey, followed by a tasting experience (allergy-friendly options available).

  • Visit Anogia Village for crafting sessions tied to the story of Athena and Arachne, with a chance to explore weaving and other traditional arts.

Evening

  • Stargaze under the Cretan sky, tying constellations to myths and storytelling.

“Ambelos” is a family-run complex located close to the sea-side village of Agia Pelagia, around a 25-minute drive from Heraklion Airport. The nearest beach in 5 min drive. Ambelos strategic location (in the middle of Crete) make it the ideal base for excursions to all different parts of the island.
