Loutraki Beach

Loutraki Beach is located in the Akrotiri area at the exit of the gulf of Souda, approximately 17km away from the city of Chania. The beach is sandy and the water is clear with a blue-green colouring. At some points of the beach there are tamarisks which offer invaluable natural shade. The water in the sea is shallow and the wider area is well protected from the wind which makes Loutraki a very popular beach for families with children.

What differentiates Loutraki from other beaches in the area is that it actually has “two sides”. Regardless of its small size, the west part of Loutraki is more quiet and family oriented, while on the eastern side, upon a small hill with grass, there is an organised beach bar with music and a younger audience. Depending on your mood you can either relax under the trees listening to the song of the cicadas or enjoy a refreshing juice lying on your sun bed under the shade of an umbrella, listening to summer music hits.
