Spend the day sailing around Milos

The Greek island of Milos is one of the lesser known gems of the Cyclades. With spectacular views and landscapes that rival the more famous islands of Santorini and Mykonos, but only a fraction of the visitors, it offers the quintessential Greek island experience. No stay on the island is complete without taking a sailing trip, and this family-friendly activity is one everyone will remember for a long time to come!

The trip begins…

Your Milos sailing trip will start at 8.30 in the morning with the departure from Adamas Port. Leaving Milos Bay behind, you will be able to see the colourful houses of the fishing villages along the coastline, before spotting the famous ‘Arkoudes’, which are rocks shaped like bears emerging out of the waters!

Sailing onward, you will notice beautiful beaches such as Plathiena, and two smaller islands. Passing by the north of the island, there are breathtaking views all around, especially of the volcanic Glaronisia islands. Make sure you have plenty of charge in your phones and cameras, because this is Instagram heaven!

Swimming in paradise…

Again, you will pass by fishing villages and on to the island of Poliegos. Here, you will feel like you have stepped into paradise, and it is the perfect place to spend some time swimming and enjoying the calming Greek sun.

Back onboard, it’s time to open the sails and head for the east of Milos where the destination is the colourful Firligos beach. Here, there is more time for swimming in the crystal clear waters and of course plenty of photo opportunities!

The sailing adventure then continues along the south coast of Milos, passing by Paliochori and Agia Kyriaki beaches before a stop at Gerakas beach. This beach is only accessible from the sea, and so you are in for a real treat here as you sunbathe and swim!

Kelftiko Bay

Your final stop when sailing around Milos will be at the famous Kleftiko Bay, otherwise known as the Pirate Bay! There’s no better place to enjoy your last swim of the sailing trip as you explore the sea caves. Then, it will be time to head back to Adamas port. Your family is sure to have had a fun and enjoyable time sailing around Milos, and you’ll have taken some incredible photos and video to accompany your happy memories of a wonderful day.
