Family Activities Near Monastiraki

In a few days we'll visit the Acropolis Museum and then have some free time. Are there any kid-friendly activities near Monastiraki? We love to visit museums. Can you please mention the entrance fees as well?

Of course! Monastiraki is a great location in the heart of the city center, so you have many fun and kid-friendly options nearby. The first and personally my favorite option is the Museum of Illusions. This museum gives you the opportunity to explore illusions through many activities. It consists of many different exhibits. Each of them has a theme and gives you the opportunity to explore the wide spectrum of visual illusions. You can read all the details about the museum's exhibits and activities here.

Another great option near Monastiraki is the Herakleidon Museum. It is an interactive science popularization center and technological museum that focuses on the ancient world, with an emphasis on science and mathematics. They also have permanent and temporary exhibitions. The current temporary exhibition is  about the science, art and technology of the ancient Greeks. Last but not least, you could visit the Archeological Museum of Kerameikos, which is a good choice near Monastiraki. The exhibitions focus on the history of ancient Greece. The museum is part of the archeological site of Keramikos. You will be able to see many exhibits about burial beliefs and customs during ancient Athenian history.
