Quote from Our Trip Planner Response on 29/06/2021, 15:37There are so many different family destinations in Greece.
Many families choose to fly to and from Athens because they want to combine a short stay in Athens with a longer stay on a Greek island. Other families choose to stay on 2 different islands.
Santorini is a truly unique island in terms of natural beauty. It is famous worldwide for its unique views, the volcano, and the amazing sunset in the village of Oia, but not for its beaches.
Mykonos is also lovely and offers an amazing "Cycladic atmosphere", really nice beaches and picturesque villages. Overall, I have to say that Mykonos and Santorini are two of the most beautiful and high quality destinations in Greece. They both offer a wide range of high quality 5 star hotels and family villas. Most of the hotels on both islands offer high quality services and have a reputation for pampering guests' needs.
The island of Naxos is one of our favorite family destinations in the Cyclades. Besides the fantastic "Greek island" atmosphere, its long sandy beaches are ideal for families with children (not windy, shallow and crystal clear waters). Our favorite is Agios Prokopios! Overall the whole island is fantastic as it combines great beaches, pretty little villages and delicious food! It also offers different accommodation options and has so many different things to see and enjoy with the family. The only thing with Naxos is that it doesn't have such a variety of larger hotels/resorts with kids clubs. It has different family villas right on the beach, suites and beautiful boutique hotels.
Crete is the largest island in Greece and an absolute paradise for families! It offers a wide range of accommodation, beautiful beaches and various activities that a family can enjoy during their stay. The famous Palace of Knossos is located in Heraklion, Crete, along with many other interesting sites and attractions. Cretans are famous worldwide for their hospitality as well as their delicious traditional cuisine!
There are excellent ferry and air connections for all the islands mentioned.
Kindly note that Aegean Airlines is the most reliable airline in Greece, while Ferryhopper is the best platform to check ferry options and tickets.
Once we have set your family agenda and the destinations included in it, I will be happy to help you design the perfect itinerary for your family (including accommodation and activities).
I hope I haven't confused you with all this information. On that note, I am happy to provide further clarification. Let me know what you decide by emailing me at [email protected].

Quote from Olivier_V on 29/06/2021, 21:02I've been with my kids on Santorini 2 years ago, they were aged 6 and 9 back then, and they liked it! Plus, it's not one of the "party islands" with lots of drunk tourists, which is great when you're travelling with children.

Actually, in all the major Greek islands there are places for the "party animals". Ask a local or come to us and we can tell you which of those places to avoid!
