I fully understand why young adults (and even teenagers!) who visit Greece are excited about the idea of renting a quad bike! They are exciting, cool, fun and gives them a lot of freedom to explore a specific place. That said, being parents ourselves, we get it ... we are all worried about SAFETY!
If I were you (the parent of a teenager), I would not encourage my child to consider renting a quad bike in Santorini before they arrive in Santorini as they first need to see if they (you) are comfortable with driving there.
As young adults, we have rented quad bikes (they are called gourounes in Greek) several times, and we loved it. But not everyone is feeling comfortable with the roads ... go there and if you/ they feel like it, do it.
Wear helmets and drive slowly! Driving in Greece can be erratic!
