The Acropolis

Your day starts when you meet our fun and knowledgeable guide. As they lead the way up to the top of the Acropolis Hill, they will explain what is in store for you – We’re sure you will love it!

With a focus on Greek mythology told in a way that everyone will understand, appreciate and be enthusiastic about, our guide will point out places of interest such as ancient theatres and defensive walls on the way to the top of the Acropolis. Once you reach the peak, the magnificent Parthenon and other buildings which make up this UNESCO World Heritage site will be revealed. If your kids are Percy Jackson fans, they may know that this was the site of one of the battles from the books!

Our guide will explain about the history of the site, as well as the mythology attached to it. There’s plenty of time for photos, instagram, and videos, and you’ll enjoy filming not only the buildings, but the views onto the city of Athens as well. When it’s time to move on to the next stage of the day, our guide will lead the way back down the hill and towards the museum.

The Acropolis Museum

Considered to be one of the finest museums in the world, it houses exhibits and displays containing artefacts found at the Acropolis. If this doesn’t sound too exciting… Don’t worry! Our kid-friendly guides will help bring the museum to life through fascinating stories. This is a museum that everyone will enjoy, and you will leave having found out even more about ancient Greek culture.

After leaving the museum, there will be enough time for lunch and relaxation.

Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon

In the afternoon you will meet your driver for an Unguided Visit to the Temple of Poseison. This temple is over 2500 years old, and is thought to have been built on the site of an even older temple.

There are many legends and myths attached to the temple and its position, with some people thinking that it forms part of a ‘Sacred Triangle’ of temples along with the Parthenon and another temple on the island of Aegina. With the temple as a backdrop, it’s a truly magical experience, and one the entire family will enjoy. There will certainly be plenty to talk about on the way back to Athens, and you can look forward to your next day of adventures in Greece!
