During the drive to the Temple of Poseidon, there will be plenty of time for a swim along the way. Depending on the time of year, you might choose to swim in the warm waters of the Vouliagmeni thermal lake, or the sea itself. As the sun slowly starts to sink lower in the sky, there’s something truly magical about the sunset at the Temple of Poseidon, and witnessing it really gives a better understanding as to just why the ancient Greek built the temple in this place.

Once the sun has finally set, it is then time to walk back out of the site to the vehicle and begin the drive back to Athens. It’s been a fun afternoon, so there will be plenty to talk about on the way back!
