Hop on your bikes and discover Athens in a fun and alternative way! Cycling is one of the best ways to get around the city. Escaping the traffic, fresh air all around, you can carve out your path on your Athenian adventures.
With our Family Bike Tour, you’ll get to explore both the modern and ancient hotspots of Athens, all the while enjoying its buzzing atmosphere.
On the cycle route, you’ll pass near the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, up through Philopappou Hill to the National Observatory and the Cemetery of Kerameikos. There are incredible panoramic views up here, with ancient wonders to one side and endless urban vistas to the other. It’s a perfect space for a quick water or snack break before heading down into the city.
Your next stop will be down the glamorous pedestrianized area of Thisseio, featuring the nearby Ancient Roman Agora and the Athens City Cathedral. You’ll also pass through the stunning neighborhood of Plaka, where you may wish to dismount to explore its winding, cobblestone alleys.
Lastly, you’ll cycle past the stunning Presidential Mansion and the Panathenaic Stadium, before moving on towards the Zappeion Exhibition Hall, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and finally, Hadrian’s Arch.
The route may change on the day, and you’re welcome to request any stops for pictures, refreshments or breaks.
The kids will enjoy a fun, engaging and educative Game of Phythagoras Game. Our Family Guide will also share the best photo spots over the most historical and scenic sites and many Fun local stories especially customised for families with children.
Families should know
- This bike tour is designed for the average cyclist. We do not cycle on busy streets and we
avoid difficult uphill parts. - The bike tour is suggested for families with kids over 7 years old
- There is a tag along option available for younger kids that are not so experienced with biking
- The total route is 9 km long, always avoiding busy streets and steep hills.
- E-bikes are available for any participant over 12 years old (or 1.5 meters tall).

We would be in at the for 4 days and would love to plan a family biking tour.
