OPTION 1: PRIVATE EXPLORE & TASTE TOUR OF THE 7 VILLAGES OF APOKORONAS

Some of the most picturesque areas of Chania can be found in the 7 villages of Apokoronas. Your professional local country guide will help you explore the region, which sits at the foot of the towering White Mountains.

●     Begin your exploration with a visit to a working olive oil factory to see how the olives are pressed and processed into Cretan liquid gold – its world-famous olive oil.

●     Your next stop is the beautiful old monastery of St. George and a nearby folklore museum On your way, you can take a walk through the rugged natural landscapes of Crete and follow some well-marked nature trails.

●     Afterward, a visit to a glass-blowing exhibition will be an opportunity for you to learn more about this local craft and its cultural history.

●     Your final activity is a fun farm-to-table cooking class at an eco-friendly location. After collecting the vegetables and fresh herbs needed to create a delicious local dish, you can test out your culinary skills under the watchful eye of a Greek “grandma”.

●     Enjoy an invigorating hiking tour in the impressive Imbros Gorge and enjoy an action-packed experience.

●     Visit the Venetian Frangokastello Fortress situated on a sandy beach and learn about its torrid history.

●     At the end of the route, you can take a refreshing swim and savor a scrumptious lunch by the sea. Alternatively, you can visit a working olive oil factory OR head to a local winery to finish off your trip sampling some of the best wines on the island.

●     Soak up the sun and sand as you swim in the crystal clear waters of Elafonissi. Its exotic landscape and pink-coral sand make it one of the most unique beaches on the island.

●     After enjoying your time at the beach, you will have lunch at another equally extraordinary beach – Falasarna. One of the top ten beaches in Europe, Falsarna will delight you with its emerald waters and powdery golden sand. The beach is so good that even some of the taverna tables are placed in the sand, allowing you to have another quick dip while waiting for your order to arrive.
