We contacted KidsloveGreece quite late less than 3 weeks before departure. I procrastinated and boy am I glad I got Maria. She was so helpful and most of all flexible. We wanted some tours to be private and some semi private to reduce costs and she was able with her team and contacts to make it happen! We had one definite tour that we had to do and that was the Percy Jackson themed one they offered. Wildly popular and totally booked solid when I contacted her but she managed to arrange a tour for us with two other families who were also from Switzerland with kids the same age. The other tour (private) was a completely amazing Stargazing experience at Cape Sounio where we had indicated some initial interest but were not sure until she explained more. We are very glad we did it! We have some amazing photos of the full moon from the powerful telescope that the guide brought. We had a third (private) tour during a 5 h layover in Athens after arriving from Santorini on the way back to Switzerland with an itinerary that Maria suggested. It turned out to be the best of all three I thought. The guide George was excellent at story telling and my ten year old twins were captivated. Imagine them sitting on the ancient stones around the Temple of Artemis nestled in the fertile valleys of Vavrona and listening to the story of King Aegeas, Theseus and the Minotaur! What I found most important was the customer service (eg listening to our needs) flexibility to customise, transparency (exactly what we would get on the tour) and excellent communication (via WhatsApp and email).

About Private Mythological Tour to the Acropolis

"It is a trip we will not soon forget!"

Planning the tour with Maria was very efficient and completely done online which could not have been any easier. Our tour guide Eva, was very knowledgeable and kind. It was apparent that she could connect parts of the Percy Jackson stories to what our sons knew and that was great. Our families felt that there was a bit too much talking (Which was fine for the adults but lost on the kids after some time.) and that more active engagement would have kept their attention longer. (Such as a game or treasure hunt or tools they could hold or touch along the way.) That being said, we loved seeing the highlights of the Acropolis and ancient Athens. It is a trip we will not soon forget!

I highly recommend KidsLoveGreece. The tour guides were wonderful and the support staff always there to answer unending questions. I liked the way our guide Evita always lowered her body to kid level to speak to the children, listened carefully and heard the quiet, mumbled questions and was flexible when they got tired and cranky. We had a wonderful tour with Vera who was a fantastic guide, both for the children and the adults. She made everything came to life for us, and was so accommodating and thoughtful. "Great fun for the kids, more knowledgeable than a walking wikipedia."

Eva was outstanding. She has multiple degrees in archaeology, greek history and culture, and child education. She met us at the terminal and arranged for a taxi into the city. She encouraged and support my 84yo mother to walk with us, while entertaining and educating my 5yo niece and 12yo daughter. Everyone loved her and our half day at the Parthenon and nearby sights was perfect She was a "walking wikipedia". Don't hesitate in booking her.
