As you approach Spetses by sea, you cannot fail to notice the imposing Poseidonion Grand Hotel, which stands proudly on the waterfront at Dapia Port. This magnificent venue first opened its doors in 1914 and was fashioned in the style of famous European hotels of the period, such as the Carlton in Cannes and The Negresco in Nice.

Built by the island’s visionary benefactor, Sotirios Anargiros, the Poseidonion established the island as a cosmopolitan destination for wealthy Athenians. It soon became a firm favorite with the international jet set, high society, and royalty, bringing glamor to the small island. It was also the first hotel in Greece to offer spa facilities to its guests amidst an atmosphere of elegance and refinement.

After falling into some decline for a few decades, the hotel opened again in 2009 after undergoing an extensive five-year restoration. Guests can now enjoy the splendor of this emblematic hotel, which has been brought fully up to date with the finest facilities, fixtures, and fittings. On approaching, you will immediately notice how the exterior has maintained its impressive facade and architecture. On entering, you will be impressed by how much of the original character has been preserved down to the very last detail.

As a guest, you can choose to stay in either of the two buildings that make up the Poseidonion Grand Hotel. With its superior and deluxe rooms and suites, as well as the magnificent ‘La Cupola’, your stay is guaranteed to be simply idyllic. While several of the rooms have private gardens or balconies, you can also take advantage of the stunning sea views that stretch out before you.

    Accommodation

The Historic Wing of the hotel offers elegantly furnished Family Suites to accommodate up to four people. The Suites consist of two interconnecting Deluxe Sea View Rooms, with a common living area that also has an additional sofa bed. They also have private balconies with magnificent views across the Argosaronic Gulf and feature walk-in closets.

The Superior Suites can host up to 3 people and consist of an exceptional master bedroom with a separate living and dining area. There are partial sea and garden views, bringing the guest the best of the island’s charm.

The VIP Suites can also accommodate 3-4 people and feature bedrooms with king-sized beds, marble en-suite bathrooms, and separate living and dining areas. Guests can enjoy uninterrupted sea views from their balconies that overlook the picturesque port of Dapia.

Guests choosing to stay at the Royal Suite will be thrilled with the amenities on offer. Able to accommodate up to 6 people, this is an exclusive residence perfect for those seeking privacy and luxury. The suite covers 250 square meters and has 3 bedrooms, each with an en-suite marble bathroom, a large living and dining area, and a private terrace offering breathtaking island vistas.

The Pine Estate is a new addition to the Poseidonion Grand Hotel experience and can accommodate up to 12 people in its 5 guest rooms. The 6-acre property is located in a private area on a forested cape, allowing guests to enjoy total privacy and exclusivity. The Estate boasts 360° views of the sea and the island, looking out across Agia Marina bay and over to the islets of Spetsopoula, Trikeri, and Agios Ioannis. It is even possible to see the island of Hydra from this prime vantage point.

A footpath from the property leads to a private beach and the small chapel of Agia Marina can also be found on the Estate for guests to take part in a private Mass. All 5 bedrooms lead out to the garden and there is a spacious living room, a home office with a piano, a lounge area with a fireplace, and a stunning infinity pool. A dedicated team is available to provide all the services you could desire during your stay and guests also have access to the Poseidonion Grand Hotel Spa and Gym.
