Falassarna Beach
Falassarna (or Falasarna) Beach is a spectacular beach with tropical white sand, crystal clear waters, and breathtaking views, ideal for families who seek a combination of pristine nature and access to basic facilities.
Falassarna Beach is located 59km west of Chania and is never too crowded, as it spans a large area.
Pachia Ammos is the main beach of Falassarna and the most organized. Here you will find sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, showers and water sports.
The beach next to Pachia Ammos can also be fun for young kids, as the rocks create natural ponds they can play in.
The area around Falassarna is a protected nature reserve and absolutely magnificent, so make sure you save some time to explore.
It is also worth visiting the ruins of the ancient city of Falassarna at the northern end of the beach. There you will see the remains of city walls and an acropolis, ancient tombs, and a stone throne, which was dedicated to the God of the Sea, Poseidon.
Finally, make sure you stay until the sunset, considered to be one of the best in Crete!
