Visiting a farm is always a fun experience for the kids, and especially so in Mykonos! We will pick you up at your hotel or meeting place, and then drive 7km to the village of Ano Mera. Here, we walk through the picturesque square, and pay a brief visit to the monastery of Panagia Tourliani. Going onward, we walk the final few hundred metres to the farm itself. We guarantee you that this Family Visit to an Animal and Organic Farm on Mykonos will be an experience you and your kids will never forget!
The farm supervisor will meet the group at the entrance, and guide everyone through the farm. Along they way, they will point out old buildings, and explain how the farm has been used in different ways over the years. Today, the farm focuses on organic farming, animal farming, and a return to more traditional ways. All the family will enjoy seeing how a rural farm in Mykonos works!
Having walked through the farm, the group will visit a small stone cottage, where drinks and snacks await. Here, you can listen to more stories about farming and also life and culture on Mykonos. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like – This is an interactive experience after all!
After this, it is time to explore the farm some more. Depending on the season, it might be possible to harvest some vegetables or crops, or become involved with some other farming tasks. Finally, it is time to head back to your hotel. We know that your time spent visiting the farm will have been a fun one, especially for the kids!
If you are spending more than a few days in Mykonos, we suggest that you take one or two additional tours in order to make the most of your time on the island. A family day-trip to Delos is always highly recommended, and you might also like to try a family cooking class where you learn how to create your own traditional Greek dishes.
