Taverna of Psaras serves undisputedly the best pies in the area whilst the grilled meats and stews follow suit and impress the palettes of every diner in the restaurant. If you like fish, don’t miss out on sampling the local trout.
The town of Gavros stretches along the river Karpenisioti – don’t let that fool you as it stretches a mere 250 metres. Gavros might not be the most picturesque town in the district and indeed it is busy due to the numerous tavernas and hostels. However, it is known as a town with culinary esteem due to the high concentration of fantastic restaurants.
You MUST visit the shop of family Gavrili where you will be educated about cheese making and make sure you don’t leave without making a purchase of this special product.
