Should I take cash to Greece?
From where shall I take cash in Greece? Shall I exchange money before my trip to Greece?
How much money shall I take to Greece for a week?
Will $ dollar or other currencies will be accepted in Greece?

Yes! Although almost all restaurants and shops take credit/ debit cards in Greece, you should take cash with you to Greece.
You might need to go to a restaurant or bar that accepts only cash or you might find their card machine ‘may not be working that day :-)
Kiosks (periptera) that sell small snacks and drinks will only ever take cash, and small souvenir shops will also most likely only take cash.
EXCHANGE MONEY
It is a good idea to exchange some money in your home country (not much though since the airport currency exchange companies might not give you a great exchange rate for EUROs).
HOW MUCH MONEY IS ENOUGH?
Regarding the amount of cash you should take with you, this is very personal. Our advice is to allow around EUR20-30 per day, but it all depends on where you are staying, how much you have already paid, and how much you want to spend.
Tips and taxis are typically in CASH. Also, you might be asked to pay in cash for a sunbed/ umbrella on the beach (in case, it is not a free service provided by your hotel/ beach bar).
ATMs
Once you arrive in Greece, you can use the ATM machines to withdraw cash. The good news is that there are plenty of ATMs from which to withdraw money all over the country.
There is a fee per transaction, however, according to our experience, it is not much. Talk with your bank about those fees as well as the maximum amount of EUR you can withdraw per day.
Please do not forget that shops and restaurants do not accept foreign currency, only EUROS.
