Join us for a fun-filled and educational family day out around the unique island of Naxos. Stories and interesting insights will be threaded through the tour by one of our local guides, who will welcome you to the intriguing charm of the island.
Our tour begins with some “food for thought” and a visit to the site of the unfinished colossal archaic statue, known also as Apollo, which has been sleeping in a garden for centuries before its discovery by local farmers. After a glimpse of the island’s ancient past, we drive from village to village where we enjoy a different course of a meal at each different location!
You will visit an off-the-beaten-path small village, Kourounochori, and indulge in local homemade pies, try local honey, and Naxian herb teas.
Chalkí village calls next, the former capital of the island, where you will taste Naxos’ famous citron liqueur at a 100-year-old distillery and, as an exceptional treat, savor the locally- prepared custard pie. Drive back with treasured memories filled with a true taste of Naxian life, now and then.
When the day is out, you will realize why Naxos was the favorite island of the Olympian Gods!
