Stargazing for Kids: A Magical Night in Paros or Antiparos

A unique experience awaits your family under the night skies of Paros and Antiparos. Discover with your kids the majesty of stargazing in an amazing place near the port of Parikia in Paros or Antiparos.
Under the guidance of a real astronomer, you will learn all about stars and our celestial neighbor. Your kids will love the clear starry sky over the Aegean and the breathtaking view of the secret place.
Family night sky exploration
The duration of the stargazing experience is 2 hours (plus, 20 minutes walk to reach the stargazing location). These two hours are divided into the following three sessions:
First Session: 60 min
During this session, your stargazing guide will tell you all about the history of astronomy, the 8 planets of the solar system, the constellations, and how to identify your own constellation. The guide will also show you how to orient yourself using the stars.
If you and your kids are Greek Mythology fans, you will love hearing beautiful myths about Orion, Andromeda, Zeus, Orion, Hercules, Cassiopeia, and other mythological creatures and gods.
Second Session: 30 min
In the second session, you will try to be philosophers and discuss various questions about the universe and the role of humans! Get ready to discuss whether there is a purpose for human life, whether interstellar travel is possible, or other existential questions.
Third Session: 30 min
Using a Newtonian reflecting telescope, you will have the opportunity to see our celestial neighbor, impressive star clusters and nebulae, and much more.
We understand that astronomy can be complex so your guide will avoid using difficult astronomical definitions and try to explain concepts with simple descriptions, ideally for amateurs or simply lovers of the night sky.
Finally, your guide will share his tips about photographing the night sky and help you set your camera in low light to take amazing photos of the starry night!
Families should know
- During this evening family tour, you will have the chance to see how clear the night sky is when the neon lights of the cities are far away
- You and your children will be able to use the reflecting telescope and view the stars
- During the tour, you will have the opportunity to discuss various things related to the stars, the universe, and more
- Learn how to take real night photos

Good afternoon. I am bring a family group to Paros in June of 2022. I would like to arrange this outing for the group of 16 (assuming all would participate), ages 12 to 72 and everything in between. We have accommodation at Apollon Boutique Hotel in Parikia.
