Kids Love Greece the Acropolis for families group tour Athens family friendly activities

Obama Visiting in Athens the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum

Have you already seen the photos of Obama visiting in Athens the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum? On Wednesday, November 16, U.S. President Barack Obama visited two of the most famous attractions in Greece, the Acropolis monument as well as the Acropolis museum.

President Obama entered the Acropolis citadel through the Propylaea and walked along the Parthenon, the temple which was dedicated to the goddess Athena, the patron god of the city of Athens. The 5th Century B.C. Parthenon temple was built by Ictinus and is surrounded these days by scaffolding. From the Acropolis hilltop, President Obama enjoyed an amazing view of the Greek capital. The whole site was closed for his visit.

Greece’s government has hailed Obama’s visit, as it is the first official visit of a sitting U.S. president since 1999, when Bill Clinton visited Greece.

Although the President traveled solo, without Michelle Obama or his family, he visited two of the top family attractions in Athens. He got so impressed that he promised he will come back soon… this time with his family and for much needed vacations!

Right after the tours he gave a speech where he strongly supported the value of democracy and the significance of the ancient Greek civilization.
