Lost Atlantis Experience Museum in Santorini
Many places have claimed the origin of lost Atlantis. However, we have so many reasons to believe that this ideal city was actually in Santorini!
The Lost Atlantis Experience Museum is a brand new museum as it opened its doors in May 2020. It is the first museum worldwide dedicated to Lost Atlantis and is located in a 700 square meter facility in the village of Megalochori.
Atlantis is probably the most famous mythological city worldwide. All of us have seen a movie or read a book that refers to this advanced ancient civilization that disappeared 3,600 years ago by a massive volcanic explosion. Are you ready to explore it and watch it come to life with augmented reality?
The myth of lost Atlantis inspired one of the most significant Greek philosophers, Plato. He wrote about this ideal city and this great civilization where the highest ethical values were dominated. The interactive videos will help you connect Plato’s Lost Atlantis myth with the volcano eruption of Santorini.
Among the highlights of the museum is definitely the 9D experience and the animated hologram of Plato. You can actually discuss with him his theory that Santorini could be the origin of the Atlantis myth.
The visit and experience last about one hour. The engaging technologies have been introduced in the best way and make the visit unforgettable.
You can visit the museum alone without a guide or with one of our family-friendly guides. Contact us for more information about all of our family-friendly activities in Santorini for kids such as the Guided Visit to Akrotiri and Pottery Workshop.
