Olympia in Greece is the birthplace of the Olympic Games, where athletes competed against one another thousands of years ago to see who was the strongest, or fastest man in the ancient world. Now, you can visit Olympia with the Family, as well as other key ancient sites in the Peloponnese region of Greece, via joining our two day, fully customized tour starting and ending in Athens.

Visiting Olympia on a tour from Athens, is a fun and exciting excursion for all the family. You will learn about the religious importance of the games, see where the athletes lived and exercised, and discover how warring, rival Greek states enjoyed a truce just to compete in the games. Our family-friendly tour guide will even encourage you to race against each other on a track used thousands of years ago!

A family visit to Olympia is part of a two-day family tour.

Visiting Olympia with the Family – FIRST DAY

The first day starts with a pick-up at your hotel in Athens. You will then leave Athens, and pass through the countryside to reach the first stop of the day, which is at the famous Corinth Canal. If you are lucky, you may see some brave people bungee jumping over the canal itself!

After this stop, the next destination is Mycenae. Set in a beautiful and imposing location, Mycenae was massively influential on ancient Greek culture, and the home of Agamemnon, the King who launched the historical / mythical war against Troy.
