Yοur fun day that we have planned out for you, will start with a horse riding through the island!
As Hydra is traffic-free, these animals are the traditional form of transport in the town. In fact, it is still possible to see people moving house with their goods transported on the back of donkeys!
Hydra Water Taxi to a Beach
After your stroll, it’s time to board one of the iconic water-taxis, and go off in search of beaches! Your destination will be Plakes Beach, which is ideally suited to families with its sun umbrellas and loungers. During the next three hours, you can play in the clear warm waters of the sea, relax on the beach, and enjoy a delicious lunch at a sea-front taverna which specialises in traditional Greek food.
Back to Hydra Town
After lunch, you will return to Hydra Town on a water-taxi, where you can spend more time exploring the side-street and alleyways. Your hosts will point out historic residences and other buildings of importance, along with artist’s workshops and boutique shops.
The sightseeing trip around the town finishes in a pastry shop which is famous for their delicious sweets. The kids will love tasting ‘amygdalota‘ a traditional sweet made of almonds. And don’t forget the homemade ice-cream! It’s the perfect end to a relaxing and fun day on the Greek island of Hydra, and all that remains is to board the hydro-foil and return once more to Athens.
