The Greek Cyclades islands are a paradise for this type of vacation. The numerous islands in this group, their hidden beaches, and their natural beauty are just a few of the reasons why sailing in the Cyclades is a must-do.

Suggested itinerary for a 2-day sailing trip to Kea

  • Day 1: Anchors away and stops at Karthea's beach and Spathi beach
  • Day 2: Family stroll in Kea Chora, a visit to an Agrotourism Farm and Xyla beach

A trip to Kea usually starts in the port of Lavrio near Athens. Here, you will be introduced to the skipper and you will board your boat. Younger kids might want to keep an eye out for pirates during the 3-hour journey across the sea to Kea, where the boat can anchor near Karthea’s beach. Here, you can enjoy a swim, discover the ruins of an ancient temple, and have lunch aboard or on the shore.

The next stop can be the beach of Spathi, which is thought to be one of the nicest in Kea. There is plenty of time for everyone to swim, sunbathe, and have fun. In the evening, the boat will anchor at the port, and your family can visit one of the best seafood restaurants on the island.

We suggest you explore Kea island. It’s main town or Chora is impressive and a good place for a Greek coffee and a pastry. You can also visit a kid-friendly agro-tourism farm where kids will love watching the traditional pasteli (a local sweet) being made, as well as tasting them!

Lunch will consist of locally made products such as pies, cheese, olives, and salads accompanied by the famous Kea honey. After lunch, there is time to visit another beach, to swim and to relax. We suggest Xyla beach on the East coast of the island.

This suggested 2-day Family Sailing Trip to Kea Island from Athens is the perfect way to experience the island! The itinerary is fully customizable. You can extend your stay or sail to another island after. Feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss the Family Sailing Trip to Kea Island in more detail.
