Hellenic Motor Museum
Located in the heart of Athens and near the National Archaeological Museum, the Hellenic Motor Museum is a hidden gem for any old car enthusiasm.
The unique 5,000 Art Deco design of the building alone is enough to impress anyone, but the collection of over 100 rare cars which are inside the building will absolutely sweep the kids off their feet.
There is a wide range of cars, all of which are beautifully restored, dating back to the beginning of the 19th and 20th century until the 80’s.
The collection aims to present the evolution of four wheels and the aesthetics developed around them.
Many of the exhibits belong to companies that are now bankrupt, such as Packard–Miller, while other exhibits are of classic models of top of the range companies such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Maserati. The exhibits are placed on rotating platforms for better viewing.
The museum offers another kid-friendly highlight – a ‘Formula One’ simulator. It is actually suitable for users of all ages, and all you have to do is pick your track and level of difficulty then you are good top go like a Formula One pro!
Before you decide when to visit it’s worth checking with the museum to know if there are upcoming temporary exhibitions. The museum is always looking to add variety to its collection and broaden your experience of the automobile’s history.
